Terms of Service

Synapse provides a hosted institutional memory platform: capture of company knowledge, document storage and indexing, permission-aware search, and AI answers grounded in your own content. We may improve, change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice before removing material functionality from a paid plan.

You must provide accurate registration details, be at least 16 years old, and be authorized to bind the organization you register. You are responsible for the activity of your users and for keeping credentials confidential. Notify us at security@mysynapseai.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

• Paid plans are billed in advance through Stripe on a recurring monthly or annual basis until cancelled.
• Cancelling stops future renewals; access continues to the end of the paid period.
• Fees are exclusive of taxes, which are added where required.
• Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law or where we materially fail to provide the service.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice before your next renewal.
• Failed payments may result in downgrade to the Free plan after a grace period.

You retain all rights to the content you submit. You grant Synapse a limited licence to host, process, index, embed and display that content solely to provide the service to you. We do not use your content to train foundation models. You can export or delete your data at any time; see the Privacy Policy for retention periods.

You are responsible for having the right to upload the content you submit, including any personal data of your staff or clients, and for the lawful basis on which you do so.

• No unlawful, infringing, harassing or malicious content.
• No attempt to access another organization's data, bypass permission controls, or probe, scan or overload the infrastructure.
• No reverse engineering, resale or white-labelling of the service without written agreement.
• No use of the AI features to generate unlawful content or to make automated decisions with legal effects on individuals without human review.
• No uploading of payment card numbers, government identifiers, or health records unless separately agreed in writing.

We may suspend accounts that put the service or other customers at risk.

AI answers are generated from your own content and are provided for assistance only. They can be incomplete or wrong. You are responsible for reviewing AI output before relying on it for any decision, and Synapse gives no warranty as to accuracy, completeness or fitness of generated answers.

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service on any plan without a separate written service level agreement. Planned maintenance will be scheduled to minimise disruption. Support is provided by email at support@mysynapseai.com, with response targets varying by plan.

Each party will protect the other's confidential information with at least reasonable care and use it only to perform this agreement. Your customer content is your confidential information.

We warrant that we will provide the service with reasonable skill and care. Otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law, the service is provided "as is" and we disclaim all other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to this agreement is limited to the fees you paid to Synapse in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

You will indemnify Synapse against third-party claims arising from your content or your use of the service in breach of these terms.

You may cancel at any time from your account settings. We may terminate or suspend for material breach, non-payment, or unlawful use, with notice where practicable. On termination your right to use the service ends and your data is deleted per the Privacy Policy; you may export it before closing the account.

We may update these terms and will post the revised version here with a new date. Material changes take effect 30 days after notice, or at your next renewal, whichever is later. Continued use after that constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Synapse is established, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence.
